Christian Laettner may well set a new record for teams in an off-season. Shuffled from Washington to Dallas then on to Golden State, he has now been waived and may soon return to the Southeast division as Washington's rivals the Miami Heat are looking to pick him up to fill their power forward position.

It's been a long, strange road for this standout player and member of the original Dream Team. For more on his career stats, read today's Miami report a little higher up in this page. The bottom line is that while his numbers have dropped precipitously since his amazing rookie year and his almost equally strong All-Star year, on a per-minute basis he is still virtually the same player with the exception of a significant drop in scoring, maybe by about half.

Laettner will likely receive the veteran minimum from Miami who are looking for a veteran presence since Karl Malone appears to be staying with the Lakers.
